(I added a dot and changed the extension from ".ZIP" to ".ZIP". This way we can make a list of things we'll need). Step 11: Copy the "BLACKOPS. ZIP" to your Black Ops directory. It will now ask to overwrite steam_api.dll. Step 12: Go back to the BLACOPS directory and open "common". Then open the "steam_api" folder. There should be two files, steam_api.dll and steam_api.dll.bak. Delete steam_api.dll and rename the other file to just steam_api (example: steam_api). Step 13: Finally, go back into your Steam library and right click on Black Ops in the list of games, then click delete local content). Step 14: Now when you start Black Ops or launch steam, it will create a "SteamApps" folder and in it will be a folder called "BLACKOPS" and inside is your Black Ops folder. Step 15: Now we need to make sure we don't run Steam when we play Black Ops. Open your task manager and click on the processes tab. Find Steam in the list of processes and right click on it, then click "set affinity". Uncheck every box except for CPU 0 (with out quotes). Step 16: You can also do this by running steam.
